Shomal University is situated in the north of Iran in the province of Mazanderan .  It is south west of Amol city, 5 km on Haraz Road . It is at an easily accessible distance from the city center.  It is within a four hour drive of Tehran and half an hour away from the sea side town of Mahmoud Abad which is on the coast of the Caspian Sea.
