"The Way To Go" Maybe this is the best sentence that describes the necessary usage of powerful GIS tools and its application.  Today if we do not use the multipurpose tools of GIS, tomorrow we will definitely have to make use of them.  Fortunately this important issue pays attention to management and the expertise of Iran in many different fields.The establishment of the National GIS Users Association and The Expert Users Groups throughout Iran means that organizations nationwide have availed themselves to and are active in the various fields of GIS.

A multitude of GIS projects are currently in operation in a way that leaves no doubt any ministry can say this is not an indispensable and major tool in today's world. Especially, as in the last decade, with migration from villages, towns and cities and rapid expansion management of cities is becoming increasingly complicated.  One of the most important functions of GIS is to generate a complete IT service, including town planning and building development, and to clarify and simplify all services for the general public. Upon achievement of the IT systems MIS and DSS upper management will, by using the latest tools and methods, be able to put these services to the use of middle management for improved communications between the government and private sector.

Fortunately, with the real needs and recognition of the prerequisites of management, consultants and experts GIS provides a sound basis for decision making and the advancement of the Iranian nation.

Over one hundred scientific articles and researches have been received in relation to GIS activities nationally and internationally.  One such example received by this conference gave heartwarming and optimistic encouragement to the hosts and organizational body of the conference and we hope that by the presentation of this conference we will have provided aid to this demanding technology; "The Way To Go"
